ABOUT US

The Marwari horse, an elegant and resilient breed native to the Marwar region of Rajasthan, India, is distinguished by its unique inward-curving, lyre-shaped ears, which often meet at the tips and can rotate 180 degrees. Historically bred by the Rathore clan of Rajput warriors since the 12th century, the Marwari is renowned for its bravery, loyalty, and exceptional endurance as a cavalry mount. This medium-height horse possesses a refined head, a high-set, arched neck, and a compact body built for the harsh desert climate. Its strong limbs and extremely hard hooves allow it to cover long distances with speed and agility. Furthermore, the Marwari often exhibits a natural, smooth, ambling gait known as the revaal. Although it comes in all equine colors—with grey being highly prized and black often considered unlucky—its striking appearance and spirited, intelligent temperament make it a cherished symbol of Indian equestrian heritage, used today in ceremonies, safaris, and various competitive disciplines.
